COVID-19 Information

UPDATE FOR SPRING 2022:

We are pleased to announce that the LOC campus will be open to all students, faculty, and staff for the Spring 2022 semester. Under the guidance of local health care officials and in consideration of the lessening COVID-19 restrictions, the College is revising its COVID-19 Safety protocols to allow non-vaccinated students to attend class and participate in events on campus.

Spring 2022 will continue in the HyFlex learning environment. Masks will still be required, and social distancing will be at 3-feet instead of 6-feet. Additional protocol changes will be provided in the revised document before the start of the semester.

Please note that for Fall 2022, we anticipate a return to in-person only learning. We will continue to make decisions based on the health, safety, and well-being of all of our Magicians.

FALL 2021:

LeMoyne-Owen College is planning for a Magical fall semester on campus and continues to keep our students, faculty and staff’s safety a top priority. In addition to updating our health and safety protocols based on CDC and Shelby County Health Department guidance, we have also hired a COVID Coordinator who will manage the processes to keep our campus community safe for a successful 2021-2022 academic year.

Taking into consideration the surge of COVID-19 Delta and other variant cases nationwide and in Shelby County, specifically, and with our campus community’s safety in mind, LeMoyne-Owen College will mandate vaccinations for faculty and staff, and for all students who intend to attend class in-person for Fall 2021.

This campus-wide commitment is part of LOC’s ongoing COVID-19 management plan. Safety protocols continue to be in effect: mask wearing, social distancing, frequent hand washing/sanitizing.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to ensure we keep our College community safe.
